Limestone is a sedimentary stone with at least 50% by weight calcium carbonate or or calcite. Limestone is often composed of skeletal fragments of marine organisms such as coral, molluscs or foraminifera. Due to the high content of calcium carbonate, Limestone is susceptible to etching from acid based contaminants eg wine, citrus, soft drinks. Sealing Limestone with Professional Grade sealers is recommended to offer for stain resistance and make ongoing maintenance easier.
